Baby-Faced Assassin: Anfernee Simons Goes Off
When the Trail Blazers took a chance on Anfernee Simons, the third high school player drafted since 2015, they knew what we didn’t. They knew he was ultra explosive. They knew, despite being a year removed from playing against children, he had the potential to one day be the face of the franchise. One thing we all can agree on is that his development would take time. On April 10, 2019, the Trail Blazers’ last game of the regular season, they unleashed Simons, allowing him to run the offense and eat. While scarfing down a healthy helping of buckets and assists, the baby-faced assassin totaled 37 points, including seven triples and nine dimes. A helluva game to finish his first campaign off, we’re looking forward to seeing more from the kid in 2019-20.
