Lou Will Feasts On Warriors
Lou Williams is so smooth he can talk a Philly jackboy out of robbing him at gunpoint, effortlessly balance two women and then have the world’s hottest musician -- Drake -- make a song about it, and give any defender on earth the blues with a bag of tricks that would make Houdini himself retire. The definition of a professional scorer, Williams went bear hunting against the Warriors on April 15, 2019, when he poked the giants with 36 points and 11 dimes while leading the Clippers back from a 31-point deficit to a 135-131 win -- largest comeback in playoff history. He then capped off the victory by eating nachos courtesy of the concessions at Oracle Arena. The legend of South Gwinnett Lou continues. I can’t even be mad he messed up my DraftKings.
Sidenote: Should’ve known better than to call it a night after the Clippers’ proverbial savage Pat Beverley proceeded to talk shit and rally the troops after drawing a charge on Kevin Durant with his team down 20-plus late in the third quarter. Every team needs a guy like Beverley, an old-school bare-knuckle brawler who's ready for war wherever, whenever and scraps until the final whistle (dude got a workout in after body slamming Golden State last night). Oh and shout out to Montrezl Harrell, who posted 25 points on 9-of-9 from the field to go along with 10 rebounds -- he and Lou Will might run the game’s most efficient pick-and-roll. We put “Trez” on our Best Role Players List earlier this year and love watching him eat in some of the game’s waviest kicks.
